First Week

Everyone's still doing well after the first week - although Mom and Dad are very tired. Nicholas seems to like to be awake during the night and sleep during the day. He has been a busy boy, already attending two birthday parties and spending plenty of time with his grandparents. At the one-week checkup at the doctor's office, Nicholas weighed in at 8 pounds 12 ounces. As he didn't seem much thinner than when we left the hospital, we weren't concerned that this weight was almost 2 pounds lighter than his birth weight. Just an hour after the doctor, we had an appointment at the hospital for paperwork, and they weighed him there at 9 pounds 10 ounces. I plan on bringing a 10-pound dumbbell to the next office visit to prove that their infant scale needs to be re-calibrated. :)
